Here at Brunswick Aces we have always made Gins in a more contemporary style, distilling to our tastes and to the seasons. That was until we got talking with the team from the Savoy Hotel on Little Collins, who stock our blends, and the concept for the World’s First Custom Blend made with and without alcohol was born. We are now so proud to present the Maitre D’ blend, not only a world first blend, but our first ever take on a London Dry style Gin.
The inspiration of the flavour profile came from a bygone era where hospitality and cocktails reigned supreme. The Savoy on Little Collins was the epicentre of nightlife in Melbourne, with it’s Rainbow room being one of the first to open it’s doors to the public for signing, dancing and of course, cocktails. We know that the classic London Dry style would have been the go to blend for all the famous recipes served around the time and recreating that sense of excitement and exploration was the impetus for this profile.
The one difference about this classic profile is that we’ve made it using our unique and proprietary process, meaning that this is an incredibly fragrant and uplifting version of that classic profile everyone knows and loves. Of course, available with and without alcohol.
Flavour notes:
Juniper Forward
Floral (Corriander Seed, Green Cardamom)
Citrus (Myer Lemon, Mandarin)
This classic London Dry style Gin is perfect for any classic Gin cocktails. From the very simplest Gin & Tonic with a traditional Indian Dry Tonic, to the more complex Negronis, Slings or Collins. It’s hard to go past the quintessential classic Martini though!
Maitre D’ has been designed as a classic London dry style flavour profile, based on a juniper forward profile, supported by a classic citrus, floral and sweet blend of botanicals.
The citrus used is Lemon and Mandarin.
Floral notes come through from Corriander Seed and Green Cardamom.
Sweeter notes of Clove and Cassia Bark.
